Are school vouchers needed?


Religious and secular conservatives generally offer two arguments on behalf of vouchers. The first is that it is unjust to force private school parents to also contribute to the public schools through their taxes (the so-called "double taxation" argument). The second is that the public schools are in a state of crisis that requires the voucher "solution." We think that these arguments are either false or misleading. Below, we explain why.
